Outstandingly good looking stallion by an Elite stallion out of a SHB(GB) Head Stud book mare with the rare ability to sire both International Eventers and HOYS show horses. Selected by H.M. The Queen for one of Her own mares and the offspring is a multiple County Show Champion with Katie Jerram. He is:
- Life Graded SHB(GB) and Life Approved AES
- CHAMPION Sire of Eventing Youngstock at 2009 BEF Futurity
- BEF Futurity Best British Bred Stallion Across All Disciplines TWICE
- One of the top British Eventing Sires
- Successful BE Novice level Eventer
- Winning BD Elementary level dressage horse and Regional Finalist with 48 BD points
- Sire of FEI International Eventers at CCI4* level
- Sire of Burghley Young Event Horse, Badminton Grassroots AND HOYS Finalists
- Sire of the BEF UK Champion Eventer 2008
- Sire of the British Eventing Breeding Champion Foal 2012
Prior to a ridden career Future Illusion was extremely successful in both the Futurity and Show ring being:
- CHAMPION FOAL (National Hunter Show ’04) winning the Kadir Cup
- Champion Futurity Yearling (All Disciplines) scoring the highest mark for ‘athleticism’ at the 2005 British Equestrian Federation Futurity with an amazing 91%
- Champion Futurity 2 Year Old Eventer
- Best 2 Year Old Colt PAVO British Eventing Breeding Championships
- Multiple County Show Champion in a range of classes
Future Illusion is an athletic bay stallion with an exquisite head and no white markings at all. He has demonstrated his versatility by winning in the show ring as a foal, yearling, 2 year old & 4 year old across a wide variety of classes. He scored the highest mark for ‘athleticism’ at the 2005 British Equestrian Federation Futurity Show (all ages and disciplines) with an amazing 91%.
“Future Illusion has excellent conformation, strong well set on limbs & good feet all leading to quality of movement. It has been proved that he passes all of this on to his progeny who will certainly make their mark in the show ring.”
– HOYS Judge, Philip Hilton
His bloodlines are exceptional – he is by the Elite stallion & Double European Junior Eventing Gold Medallist Fleetwater Opposition, out of the Head Stud Book SHB(GB), Champion Sporthorse and Champion Hunter broodmare Future Illicit Affair.
Fleetwater Opposition’s legacy lives on through his offspring – Summersong (Olympic, World and European eventer), Opposition Buzz (European Team Gold Medalist) and many other Advanced eventers, as well as BE Young Horse Champion Opposition Heracles.
Future Illicit Affair carries in her pedigree the great Skippy (sire of Jumbo), Criminal Law (Sire of multiple 5* eventers) and Demonstrator (Grand Prix dressage horse and sire of countless County Show and HOYS winners). With the addition of top class National Hunt breeding on her bottom line which descends from the legendary Spiritus, and the Gold Cup winner Fortina, this mix of TB and trakehner blood is proving to be the pedigree of choice for modern eventers.
Future Illusion is the sire of:
- CCI4* Eventers, Express Eventing Winners, BYEH and Badminton Grassroots Finalists
- National Futurity Champion Eventers and Res. Supreme Champions
- HOYS Finalists and sire of 2 Champions, 2 Reserve Champions and 5 class winners at the 2019 Show Horse Association Show in a single day
A unique stallion who has the outstanding beauty and movement to produce the very best Show horses, but that also passes the toughness, athleticism and trainability to also reach the very top in International sport. A true jewel in British breeding.
